Product Description

Starring Bill Owen as Compo, Peter Sallis as Clegg and Frank Thornton as Truly.

In the beautiful and tranquil village of Holmfirth, love is frequently in the air, and more often than not, it only takes a glimpse of some wrinkly stockings to make a certain scruffy little lothario’s heart race. And you never know, the mobile dating agency that’s appeared in the area could help matters along--will Nora Batty finally give in to his romantic advances? But now there’s a new man in town--Walter Ridley--and all the local ladies seem very interested indeed. Maybe Compo will need to up his game, if he’s to secure the affections of the lady he’s lusted after for so long…

5.0 out of 5 stars Wayne from Australia 6 May 2011
By Wayne
Format:DVD
What can I say, all of these show are great. I have the set from series 1 to series 20, and I love watching them over and over. When all you get when you see films today is sex or violence it is beneficial for people to see a film with none of this and very entertaining. I would recomend these shows to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Last of the Summer Wine Series 19 & 20 7 Oct 2010
Format:DVD
Even though this is being called 18 & 19 at the time of writing this is should be called 19 & 20 (even if it uses 18 & 19 but see below for that) so that is what i will be calling it

so another release of the much loved and longest running comedy in the world, however with the series 9 set being called 9 & 10 by universal us brits are behind with the numbering and what is expected is the actual series 18 & 19 which are from 1997 and 1998 with the specials made at that time, so what can we expect from this set, well if no series has been missed out then this will bring to end the best loved third man's time on LOTSW, yes Foggy's (Brian Wilde) final episodes will be on this set, these include the special extra extra, the love mobile, a clean sweep, how to create a monster, deviations with davenport, destiny and six bananas and Brian Wilde's final episode a sidecar named desire, the next series will introduce frank thornton's Truly in the special there goes the groom (which wrote out Foggy who was played by an extra and introduced Truly) Truly's 1st series which includes tarzan of the towpath, truly and the hole truth, the suit that attracts blondes, from audrey nash to the widow dilhooley and support your local skydiver, whilst series 18 (dvd 19) was being shown the special documentary 25 years of last of the summer wine was shown however there is no indication yet if that will appear on this set or not, however with or without it this should be another great set which is some comfort to fans after the show was cruelly axed in 2010, i ask playback to treat the show with respect and get every episode out ASAP

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh lines 10 April 2011
By Mike C
Format:DVD
I was looking for some good clean fun. Something to get the old chuckle buttons pushed. You can keep your bad language, and inuendo's just give me a laugh. Well Icertainly found all I was looking for in "Last of the summer wine". The hillarious antics of the three main characters, not only pushes the chuckle button, it keeps it pushed from start to finish. On the down side, I don't really think that the younger generation will enjoy the antics of "Foggy,Compo and Clegg", their type of humour is really for the older generation.

Another delightful visit to Holmfirth where the locals get older but never seem to age. Truly fits in well,
taking his part as the leader of the pack.
