Allister have yet to make a breakthrough to be heard because they are mostly unknown right now. This is their best album by a long shot because of its smooth punk-rock rhythms. There's a couple of other bands that Allister's music is similar to...
If, on a 1-5 scale, at 5 there was blink 182 and at 1 there was bowling for soup then allister would be at 4. What my point is, is that Allister are very much along the same lines as a tame blink 182 but with a splash of bowling for soup.
The album is in a very good mood until track 12 (westbound) when it all seems to die and break away which totally breaks their streak, hence the 4 stars, but the first 11 tracks I could easily listen to all day. This is good music but I can assure you that not everyone will like it. The above bands are similar so if you like them then give Allister a chance.

Great CD... 7 Feb 2004
Format:Audio CD
I am a big fan of the Drive Thru records label, so seeing Allisters latest album marked up at £5 was a bargain. I ordered and received the CD promptly, and what a great CD it is.

It may not compare to that of The Starting Line and NFG but it is a slightly different style. This is more fast and catchy, compared to the heartbreak angst that is Starting Line and NFG. Songs like Scratch and Somewhere on Fullerton are fast and powerful, like most the songs on the CD. However Camouflage and Racecars take a much more angst approach.

If you are into the angst stuff though, this may not appeal to you, as the two songs I mentioned above are the only really ones that suit that genre.

If you like Blink 182 and other fast pop-punk stuff, give this a go. Its worth it.

allister review :) 2 Oct 2003
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
ive bin a fan of this band for years so thought id review ignoring the fact that most punk pop albums sound vaguely the same, its a great album. all the songs are catchy and high powered that you don't get bored of. there's a definate development of the band between last stop and dead ends, but i still ahven't got bored of dead ends, despite it being fairly old now. the band are also GREAT live and had the crowd completely pumped when is saw them as an opening act on two occasions, and i can't wait til they come for a headlining tour (yeah england are slow.. takes a while for the good guys to come over..) and they're also really nice guys too :) frienly and funny. GO BUY IY!

Pretty damn good
Allister are your average punk/rock band. No, scratch that, they're not. I have no idea what it is that sets them apart, but whatever it is I like it. Read more
