Joan Aiken is a faboulous writer who has produced mountains of beautifully enchanting stories. This is yet another collection of immaculately crafted tales that cannot fail to capture the imaginations of readers and listeners alike. If you are enticed by these stories you must buy 'A Necklace of Raindrops' too - simply borrowing it from the library is not enough, they're precious stories that you'll want to enjoy again and again for years and years.

book of the heart 4 Oct 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I remember this book ,as a child its one that stayed in my heart. It's a book of short stories, the stories dive deep into the imagination, taking you to a whole new place of being with your child.
The great thing too is that there's a moral to every story to help your child, and it might help you along the way too.
The pictures are divine, such beautiful colors, like magical paintings.

get yourself a copy, you will not be disappointed.

Great book... 28 Mar 2007

I too read this book in middle school and have been completely in love with the stories and characters ever since. (I feel a little silly that I only just now thought to look on Amazon for a copy for my little sister)I fully recommend this title for anyone who has a youngster that loves fantastical stories.

great collection of stories. haven't read them since i was a kid & was stoked to find it. charming without being sappy, funny without being overly clever. the illustrations have the lovely quality and looking both detailed, and therefore interesting, as well as slighty smudgy pencil quality, giving them a little glow-like feel. the condition of the book was not as great as advertised, but there was certainly no damage that took away from the material itself.

A Wonderful Book for Children and Adults Alike 24 Sep 2000
By Gloria Darlington - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I first read this book when I was in the Fourth Grade. I fell in love with its fantastic tales of bizzarre circumstances and extraordinary characters. It has, since then, been one of my favorite books. This book will revive the imaginations of anyone who chooses to read it.
