Book Description

7 Aug 2008
Jaz is one determined teenager. Whether it's getting that Tae Kwon Do move just right, or investigating the latest cancer treatment to help her mum, giving-up just isn't in her vocabulary.

But when her mum announces that she and Jaz will spend the summer staying in a cottage on the marshes, just the two of them, Jaz may have to realise that there are some things she can't control. Away from her friends and urban lifestyle, Jaz struggles, but slowly begins to tune into her environment and embrace her alternative summer. Jaz begins to see her mum differently. She starts to see the other sides to her mum - as a woman, not just a mother or a wife - and their relationship and understanding deepens. Jaz's outlook on life changes, as she develops strength and maturity. But there is something on the horizon for which Jaz may never be able to prepare...

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, sad story. 27 Aug 2008
Format:Paperback
Jaz is a great character - spunky, loyal, tenacious, contradictory in the way that teenagers are. And her Mum and Dad are lovely, so much in love it's heartbreaking. But Jaz's Mum is dying, this is their last summer together, and it's her wish that they spend it out in the country, miles away from their London home.
Jaz misses her friends and the parties but meets a gorgeous, silent boy who helps her through the heartache.
Yes, you do need a box of tissues to get through but hey, isn't life like that sometimes? And the upbeat end is wonderful, definitely worth sticking with - it will leave you feeling good about being alive.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic read! 14 Aug 2008
By Kate
Format:Paperback
I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down! I read it in one day!! I am 14 and I think it is good for my age group, but i think that older readers would enjoy it as well. It is quite a sad book, but also fairly uplifting. It is a "must read" book and the story stays with you long after you have finished it. I highly recomend this book and really enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Last Kiss of The Butterfly 12 Jun 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
(By Mika, Chris's daughter!) I have read all of Jill Hucklesby's books, and Last Kiss of the Butterfly is probably my favourite out of the four. The book came promptly and is a very good price. The book is brilliantly written, and is really moving. It is a great read for teenagers through to adulthood! :)
