Jaz is one determined teenager. Whether it's getting that Tae Kwon Do move just right, or investigating the latest cancer treatment to help her mum, giving-up just isn't in her vocabulary.
But when her mum announces that she and Jaz will spend the summer staying in a cottage on the marshes, just the two of them, Jaz may have to realise that there are some things she can't control. Jaz is a great character - spunky, loyal, tenacious, contradictory in the way that teenagers are. And her Mum and Dad are lovely, so much in love it's heartbreaking. But Jaz's Mum is dying, this is their last summer together, and it's her wish that they spend it out in the country, miles away from their London home.
Jaz misses her friends and the parties but meets a gorgeous, silent boy who helps her through the heartache.
Yes, you do need a box of tissues to get through but hey, isn't life like that sometimes? And the upbeat end is wonderful, definitely worth sticking with - it will leave you feeling good about being alive.

I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down! I read it in one day!! I am 14 and I think it is good for my age group, but i think that older readers would enjoy it as well. It is quite a sad book, but also fairly uplifting. It is a "must read" book and the story stays with you long after you have finished it. I highly recomend this book and really enjoyed it.
