I bought Stroke 9's major label debut, Nasty Little Thoughts, a few years back and it was an excellent emo/pop punk-styled album in the same vein as early Cheap Trick, Splender, Matchbox 20, Goo Goo Dolls etc-but nothing exceptional. I bough LOTIP since All Music Guide, which has only rated any of their previous album no better than 3 stars, gave it 4.5 stars and was highly complimentary. This album exceeded all expectations and is so good I didn't think that Stroke 9 were capable of this. If you like jangly guitar pop with catchy choruses then this is for you! The music styles are more varied and the overall feel is very much toned down and less angry. There is a mix of power pop, alt country and more straight ahead rock songs and not one dud. Buy this and you will not be disappointed!

Amazing, back to the roots 16 Jun. 2007
By Corey Jepperson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Amazing album that really goes back to the Nasty Little Thoughts album (their best selling album) and really just blows you away song after song. This album, and this band, is definitely under appreciated despite being critically acclaimed. A definite buy.
It Grows on You 9 Feb. 2015
By Michelle S. - Published on Amazon.com
I blindly bought this album a few years ago because I have always loved Stroke 9 and have enjoyed it.

I bought this album as soon as it came out and fell in love with a song or two, but wasn't really into the rest of the album. However, I left it on my iPod and songs would start popping into the shuffle. Over time, I had grown to know and like most of the songs. It is still not my favorite Stroke 9 album, but I'm glad I own it.
Incredible 1 Aug. 2007
By Ryan C. Crays - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This most recent album from the S9 boys has allowed me to confirm what I've already known for years.....Stroke 9 never disappoints! These new cuts are quite good, but they lack the pure greatness of the Little Black Backpack album. All in all, I say go for it.
Upbeat and spunky 17 July 2009

I love this CD. I've driven across country three times in the past year and I could always depend on this album to pep me back up for another 300 miles.
