Product Description

Not far in the future, cat flu has meant that cat breeding is strictly controlled, and cats are only for the rich in their private estates.

When Feela turns up in Jade's garden, she can't resist taking her in, even though it could cost her everything.

But then Feela gets sick, and Jade is forced to seek help. But soon Comprot are raiding Jade's house. When Jade's mother dies, the only person left for Jade to turn to is Kris, the cynical school loner.

Jade has always trusted the authorities, but now she begins to question the very society she lives in. And soon Jade and Kris are on the run ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Un-put-downable!, 2 Aug 2009
By
This review is from: The Last Free Cat (Paperback)
A real page-turner of a book, which is fast paced and tense. The three main characters are forced into a stressful situation from the start. Jon Blake (the book's author) includes some amazingly sensitive, carefully observed and detailed descriptions of feline behaviour. It is all woven together into one brilliant book.

It is set in the future, after Cat Flu has ravaged the planet. No cats roam free, and any seen can be shot on sight. People are terrified, and forced to live a life which is akin to 1984's Big Brother.

The book is aimed at teenagers, but that shouldn't put off any older readers. It's too good to miss!
