Another "Five Star" soundtrack release from David Arnold.
The CD score is for the little-known Tom Berenger movie called "Last of the Dogmen" - an enjoyable film which I think was unwisely marketed in the mould of "Last of the Mohicans". There are _some_ similarities between the two films, but this is a far more simplistic present-day affair - and let's face it: Tom Berenger ain't no Daniel Day Lewis either (sorry Tom)
Sadly, the film was a "direct to video" affair in the UK, but I can recommend seeking it out if you get the chance - harmless, warm-hearted entertainment.
Arnold's superlative score is one of the strongest factors of the movie. He composed this one directly after his magnificent music for "S T A R G A T E", so there are initially some familiar themes. The Dogmen score is of course a much more romantic affair however, quite in keeping with the film itself.
As a long-time collector of movie soundtracks, I can confidently advise adding this now-rare release to your collection before it goes out of print. Finally, if you enjoyed Arnold's music for Stargate, The Young Americans and now of course the Bond movies, then you are certain to love this.
