Product Description

The year is 2280. The Colonial Earth Systems, a sphere of stars made up of a dozen planets is still recovering from a decade long war with a race known as the Artrans. During the conflict, a nomadic race of aliens once imprisoned by the human military help turn the tide of battle. Due to their bravery and self-sacrifice, the Colonial Earth Systems gives them a world of their own - a planet with an artificial atmosphere generator. When someone sabotages it - Colbosh, an alien mercenary, finds himself the lone survivor of his race. Driven by vengeance, he seeks out those responsible only to find himself on the run from the vengeful Colonial Earth Forces.

With the aid of a few old allies and enemies from Colbosh's past; he begins to piece the genocide back together. As each piece falls in place, the veil of an unknown enemy is revealed and Colbosh finds himself trapped in the middle of another war. A war with an unknown force that is capable of exterminating all life in the galaxy.

A classic tale of retribution set in a science fiction setting 17 Feb 2010
By Myra - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was one of the first science fiction books I've read; mostly I read a lot of romance and biographies sometime true crime stories. This book was a surprise for me as it was handed down as a book for our book club to read. It had a surprising begging that held my interest. The characters where well described and the action and plot kept things going. There are moments of high tension that kept me awake awhile longer; especially the further along in the book as the author builds his story in a roller coaster fashion. There are a lot of interesting characters along the way including pirates; led by one truly disturbed individual, Dante. Dante is one truly cruel individual even compared to the monstrous acts Colbosh commits on his quest for revenge. This isn't a feel good book by any means; none of the characters are heroic in the traditional sense. They are all flawed with human elements which is one of the strong points of this book. The characters are believable with normal problems and concerns. The ending was quite a surprise as Colbosh is left with a chose to either bring peace to the galaxy or to crush all those who had brought harm to his people.

Colbosh dishes it out in a non-stop science fiction adventure 17 Feb 2010
By Dillon - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you're a fan of the military science fiction genre then this book is a good addition. It has a few elements that are not traditional; especially since the main character isn't human. The humans mostly are the bad guys in the book along with another race of aliens, called the Artrans. The main character is described in the first chapter of the book as being a humanoid sized lizard with bluish- green skin. This isn't the normal color of skin for others of Colbosh race. As we find out in the book Colbosh is the only one of his kind; a hybrid of sorts between his race and an experiment by the humans. Colbosh is a cold hearted alien bent on a quest of revenge. He's hunting down those responsible for the destruction of his world and he doesn't stop at anything to achieve his goal; including killing lots of people that get in his way. The motivation for this charter is strong and the action and plot flow smoothly. There is a lot of support characters in this story that adds to the action and uniqueness of this tale. In fact one of the main characters is a soccer sized droid referred to as Dim (or Droid Interrupter Matrix) that aids Colbosh in conversation and in tactical situations. The book is a good blend of military science fiction and action adventure.

Formidable 19 Feb 2010
By james courtland - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book was passed on to me by a friend. I didn't think much about it at first but the synopsis sounded interesting enough so I gave it a try. My friend had told me it was a good read, fast paced with lots of action and he was right. The first chapter is a bunch of dialogue, but all of it builds the setting for events that are going to happen. By the second chapter the main character is introduced and it's time to lock and load. Colbosh the main character is hell bent on revenge; because an unknown party blew up the atmosphere generator on his world. For what we learn from the story Colbosh is the last of his kind. Even though he isn't completely a pure breed. Colbosh is an experiment between human DNA and his Race. To make this a little clearer Colbosh is basically a lizard with bluish green skin. Colbosh has a floating droid companion that talks for him; because Colbosh is unable to speak basic human language. His droid shares a mind link with Colbosh and is defiantly one of the unique characters in the book. There are a lot of other characters introduced in the book including pirates, led by man named Dante. Dante is a nasty character but in my opinion not as nasty as Admiral Frost. Frost is a main character throughout the book. It's through his view point we learn a lot about what is going on in the rest of the galaxy. We know from the very begging that Frost is a bad guy, but at one point throughout the story we discover that Frost isn't such a bad guy, but don't let that fool you. All in all this was a fun action packed book that I finished over the period of two nights. I think that anyone who is interested in action oriented science fiction should read this.
