Book Description

27 May 2008 Triple Countess (Book 1)
What if you're in love - but you can't make love? Book One of the Triple Countess series. Miranda and Daniel, Earl and Countess of Rosington are deeply in love. However, Miranda contacted a severe fever in childbirth, leaving her with a high risk of dying should she conceive again. Daniel can't bear the thought of losing his wife and treats her like a porcelain doll, not a real woman. Distraught, Miranda turns to her brother in law Orlando for advice. Together they concoct a plan that will bring Daniel to his senses, and soon Daniel finds himself on the losing end of a wager. Miranda and Daniel must pose as a simple innkeeper and his wife, working together to save a failing business. Forced into sharing a bed, searing desire threatens to ruin Daniel's good intentions. Daniel will have to overcome his fear of his wife dying, and Miranda must overcome her inhibitions, to seduce Daniel. Can Daniel and Miranda give in to their love and save their marriage? Find out by reading the first book in the new Triple Countess series from Lynne Connolly! Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex

4.0 out of 5 stars More like 4 1/2 stars..... 23 Jun 2008
By Deborah Wiley - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Lady Miranda Rosington loves her husband deeply and she is devastated to learn he is looking for a mistress. She has been happily married to Daniel for many years and they have two wonderful children. However, questions abound about Miranda's health.

Daniel's brother, Orlando, can't bear to see Miranda so upset. He devises a plan to force Daniel to spend time with Miranda... by sending them to renovate the Blyth Arms, a very disreputable inn. Daniel and Miranda must pose as an innkeeper and his wife. Will all their hard work and time together help Daniel see that Miranda is not so fragile after all? Meanwhile, how will they handle situations with the locals, including one young lady named Alethea who is fleeing her home?

Lynne Connolly pens a very thought provoking historical novel. The reawakening of the love between Miranda and Daniel is beautifully done. Lynne Connolly handles the issue of Daniel's search for a mistress quite tactfully as she makes Daniel's point of view clearly understood. After all, Daniel believes that sexual relations with his wife could lead to her death... and he cherishes her too much to see her die. I must admit I wanted to see a little more groveling from Daniel, but he fully redeems himself in other ways.

The subplots involving Alethea and the former use of the Blyth Arms offer a great deal of insight into the mentality of the time period. Women are only minimally given any sort of rights and even those were often trampled on. In a world such as this, Daniel's own thoughts of infidelity are a bit more understandable. Lynne Connolly also exposes Daniel to incidents involving various abuses of women in the course of this tale. Daniel's reaction to those situations helps him come full circle back to what and who are important to him.

LAST CHANCE, MY LOVE is an excellent start to what promises to be a fascinating historical series. Lynne Connolly makes the time period spring to life with her vivid descriptions and realistic characters. LAST CHANCE, MY LOVE is a definite hit!

4.0 out of 5 stars A look past the courtship phase of a relationship... 10 July 2009
By Deanna L. Fisher - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Unlike so many romance novels, Last Chance My Love focuses entirely on the relationship between a husband and wife in regency England. The hero and heroine have been married for several years and the heroine has been weakened physically due to the difficulty surrounding her pregnancies, and has been advised to forego relations with her husband. A wager between her husband and his brothers results in the hero and heroine spending a month masquerading as an innkeeper and his wife. The story picks up from there as their relationship re-develops. The story was well-written and didn't take long to read. This is the first book i've read by the author and I look forward to reading more.

Totally sexy, with the story line carrying you along, and yet not alot of talk of sex, more the build up throughout, which could be reflected of those times and grandeur.
