A family saga with romance at the heart.
David Keldas has been living a lie, and after the reading of a will, he knows his life must change. But tragedy strikes and the bond with a young girl puts brother against brother and father against son. In desperation he looks to the Wasdale hills to give him strength, but under their shadow another danger lurks, one that will change his life irreparably.

More About the Author

I'm not a writer but a storyteller and a gardener. I love mountains, trees and animals.
I believe that storytelling is an art form; some people like the pictures, some don't; that's how it is with art.
I can't help what my characters do and say because they have minds of their own, but please be reassured that no children or animals were hurt in the creating of these stories.
My home is in Northern England, close to the great North Yorkshire moorland; a place of wild hills and heather. I love walking and I'm a trained horticulturalist; I have a passion for horses, donkeys, cats and, quite honestly, anything living that needs a helping hand.

If you love a gritty family saga in a beautiful setting, then Northern Spirit is one for you. It is the first in the series and introduces the Keldas family and follows, in the main, the life of David the eldest son.

The Last Boat To Nowhere is the second novel in the Keldas series. It starts in 1974 and follows David Keldas through to the next decade. It is out on Kindle now and in paperback. Although this is the second in the series it can stand alone and be read as a taster.

Keld Head: The Keeper of The House is the controversial prequel and completes the trilogy of the Keldas family saga. Read it first or read it last. It begins in 1903 and follows the life of Robert, Freddie and Elizabeth Keldas in Edwardian England. This is a romance like no other as we journey through Lakeland during wartime and peace.

New: Jamie : Through Monochrome Eyes. Digital version only.
This is a spin off novel from the Keldas series and features Jamie Keldas and his battle with trying to be normal.

All of the Keldas family series are available in paperback from Amazon should you wish to have and hold a real book or buy as a gift for a friend.

If you enjoyed reading any of my novels please will you leave a short review on Amazon for me and, especially for you, I will wave my arms about and jump up in the air and shout: Whoo Hoo!

To Paint a White Horse is now available on Kindle. It is a quirky English mystery. It will depend on its success whether I put it in print.
I wrote it with a view to being a light-hearted story with human interest. The characters are all likeable, especially Jonathan Miller, the marathon runner. This is a contemporary novel and is unique in its subject matter in the restoration of a massive chalk horse.

Donkey Innocence will make you smile and long for the freedom of youth and the beauty of innocence. All royalties from this story go to the an international animal welfare organization dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in some of the world's poorest communities.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Journey Worth Taking 27 Mar. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
As the second book in a trilogy, I had preconceived ideas of where the plot would go, but the author dashed those at every turn. Last Boat To Nowhere is full of surprises (there are a couple of shocking, sad ones). Davey (the main character) starts off as a brooding Heathcliff and remains that sort of character for most of the way through the book. But as you go on the journey with him, you really get to understand what makes him, him. When it comes to the ending, you will be delighted - but I can't say any more about it without spoiling the whole reason for reading this book. I'll just tell you this, love conquers all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Confused 11 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read Northern Spirit with enjoyment (being a Cumbrian lass) and was looking forward to the sequel. The author is obviously very familiar with the Lake District area and her great love for it shows in her books. However, I never seemed to engage with parts of the plot and the bits that were revealed left me thinking, 'how and when did that happen'? I am still reading this book so hope all will be clear in the end.
