A novel set in the late-19th century, by the author of "A Kind of Paradise". Amelia, daughter of a canon of Durham Cathedral, marries the new curate of a prosperous, untroubled parish, but the tough and independent lead miners bitterly resent the landowners who exploit their dangerous labours.
I have been writing stories since I was eight, with only a brief interruption for the births of our children.
Now a grandmother, I am still writing, mostly historical novels. I have 22 published fiction titles under three different names - mostly as Helen Cannam, but also (for 7 early historical romances) as Caroline Martin and Mary Corrigan. Most of my novels are now available at the Kindle store. For more about these books, visit my website at www.helencannam.com
