5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality from this printer 8 Dec 2012

After very prompt delivery and waiting for the ink to run out in my old Epson inkjet printer I found installation (from automatic downloaded drivers) very simple.

The quality of print is very muc superior to the inkjet. In fact I will use this for producing business headed stationery instead of paying a print company.

Not tried photo paper or smaller than A4.yet: not something I do often but that may be because the Epson was very unreliable printing images.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good printer. Not wireless. 24 Jun 2013

I have now bought the M276nw printer, which is the wireless version of the M276n printer.

Please note the M276n is NOT wireless, contrary to how it is described in several places, inlcuding on Amazon. I ordered the printer, received it, unpacked it and spent some time trying to attach it to my network before I realised that I had been mis-sold a printer that was not wireless. Nor did the non-wireless printer come with the correct cable to attach it physically with the network other than a USB cable which is only intended for use during set-up.

All this said, otherwise the M276n and M276nw are the same printer and the print quality is excellent. For the money either printer produces excellent quality prints at full resolution and there is plenty of scope for printing in more economical modes. This is all easy to change, as is grayscale.

Scanning is also a breeze and produces good quality documents in a range or formats.

Just make sure you ignore the product descriptions on Amazon and get the printer you want - M276n for the standard networked printer (NOT WIRELESS) and M276nw (for the wireless version).

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb 7 May 2013

Excellent printer and scanner - everything works fine with our iMac running OS X 10.8. Particularly like the scan to network feature. Scan to email also works well.

Took about half an hour to get it out of the box and installed - no problems encountered at all.

Be aware that it is quite noisy when printing, apart from that it's excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent printer, excellent quality 20 Nov 2013

I have always had HP printers for their quality and this is no exception.

I was upgrading from a second-hand colour laser which had been used with refill toner and leaked all over, something I would never do personally. I had given up on inkjets because I do not print often enough to keep the ink from drying up or going off.

This printer may be expensive to buy initially in comparison, with expensive toner to replace, but for the quality and reliability its good value. The new toners also have a higher wax content than older ones which means they smell less of ozone when you use them and have a much nicer shiny quality to the prints. Photos come out excellent, not photo quality like inkjets on fancy paper, but far better than inkjets on plain cheap paper. This something often forgotten about cost per page, you have to factor in the cost of the paper which when wanting to print photos on an inkjet you need to use expensive paper for it to come out well.

Overall, I am very pleased with this printer. It performs exactly as I had hoped. Some reviews say its noisy or slow, but clearly they aren't coming from much older models as its quiet and fast compared to those. Being able to scan straight to a network drive is extremely useful, my only complaint would be that it only scans in jpeg that way (or if you scan multiple pages using the document feeder, a PDF with multiple jpegs embedded in it). I would prefer to scan to PNG, but you would have to use a PC to do that. That is a small complaint however.

Another thing to note, according to the printer I have used a LOT of toner already which can come across as alarming.

2.0 out of 5 stars HPSENDFAX does not work on Windows 8.1 / IE11 16 July 2014
Verified Purchase
Be warned; the network HP Send Fax function does NOT WORK on Windows 8.1 (or any version of Windows with Internet Explorer 11). Both HP and Microsoft are aware of this but are too busy slinging mud at each other to fix the problem.
Meanwhile the "nice but dim" HP support staff can only parrot "have you tried running the diagnostic software" each time you approach them for a fix.
Otherwise this all-in-one printer does what it should.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent printer 17 May 2014

Printer works well.
My only regret is that it will not scan to a txt or rtf file. My previous HP printer (HP3210) did and it worked very well. You could scan a page of text and it would become a text file, which could be manipulated in MS Word (or similar). The documentation with this printer implies that this feature is free but when downloaded asks for over 100. Disappointed.
