You see how the illustration shows this gate fitted to a wall without skirting boards? Ever seen a wall like that? No, me neither. We bought three of the previous model of which two have broken (the spring to refold it went), and this to replace one of those. Now that there's a long rail to hold the gate open it's made fixing it to a wall with a skirting board impossible where before it was merely unsatisfactory. It would cost them a few pence to include spacers for a variety of skirting widths, so to fail to do so is unforgivable. Instead they build a mock house for their marketing photos which overcomes the problem, and presumably expect mums and dads to make their own spacers (i.e. buy wood, cut it, prepare it, paint it, fit it, and attach gate fixings through it - a total drag.)
OK when they work, but very annoying to install, very unattractive, and unreliable. Avoid.
