More About the Author

I began writing for children around 6 years ago and have written a variety of stories and poems.

Published on Amazon are Anastasia Series I and II aimed at 9-12 year olds, of ebooks all about Anastasia and her adventures with the horses of Boughton Lodge. Anastasia is a very special young girl who has a great friend called Charlotte and together they solve mysteries and crimes while out riding their horses.

Anastasia Series III and IV are aimed at teens/YA upwards and these can also be found on Amazon.

Omnibus' of Series I, II and III are now available so you get all the books in one handy eBook for each Series! There is also the first story in Series IV- Sheer Elegance. There is a website all about the Anastasia stories www.anastasiabyrachaelphillips.com www.anastasiabyrachaelphillips.co.uk

Also now on Amazon is a new series of books for children about a very special animal called Larry the Liger: his father was a lion, his mother was a tiger!

Larry is a very loveable liger cub who shares his experiences through chapter books that are illustrated by the text. Each story deals with things every child experiences and each story has a positive message for children and adults to enjoy.

When I am not writing for children I am looking after my own two children and having a go at amateur dramatics. If you want to read my blog it can be found at http://rachaelmphillips.blogspot.co.uk.

I look forward to sharing news with you all about how the books are going in the near future.

Happy reading

Rachael Phillips :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Lary the Liger-a lovely read. 7 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed reading about Larry the Liger-and finding out exactly what a liger is! This is written in a clear, straightforward way and tells the story of Larry the baby liger who was abandoned by his creator, and his experiences of finding a warm and loving home. The repetition of some of the phrases throughout the story provide the potential for participation by the younger listener to the tale. I intend to share this story with my 5 year old son, but anticipate that older, independent readers would also enjoy meeting Larry.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read that children will enjoy 11 Dec 2012
By wee
Format:Kindle Edition
I downloaded this free book after it was recommended to me by a friend to read when I next visit my niece. The book is an enjoyable read regardless of your age. The writer has created a phrase regarding the liger not being a lion or a tiger, cheetah or a panther which stays jn your mind long after you have finished reading the book. A great read that children wills enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real treat for your children 5 Feb 2013
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I downloaded this book in an attempt to keep my 5 year old nephew occupied during a train journey and I wasn't disappointed. The author has woven a beautiful story for young children and her simple, but effective writing style captured my nephew's full attention, so much so that I was asked to read it again and again.

I would strongly recommend this book to anyone looking to entertain a small child and the absence of pictures as one reviewer mentioned is not an issue. Children have the finest imaginations and my nephew had no trouble making pictures in his head as a result of the authors well written prose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Larry the Liger - The New Home 21 Jan 2013
By Gwendolin Schwartz - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a cute story and opened a series of questions for my children who had never heard of a Liger. We did some internet research and used this fictional book as a starting point to look up some amazing true facts.

3.0 out of 5 stars Missing Illustrations 11 Dec 2012
By Peggy A - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This story is cute. It is about a liger (a hybrid mix between a tiger and a lion) that is trying to fit in. The underlying message is good, and the cover illustration is nice, too. The story was translated into English, and it needs some minor editorial corrections as well as some corrections for verb tenses. I would expect a children's book to have illustrations, so I've deducted one star from the rating.
