I have dropped many hints about the Larousse Gastronomoique as the only cookery book I will ever need. No one has caught on that I would like the big book with everything in it. But as a birthday present and an appetiser at the wrong end of the meal, this extracted volume was appreciated as the handbook to proper self indulgence. Very nice and very useful.
