I honestly don't understand why everybody seems to think that this is as good as the first, or even the second season. First I have to say that I really enjoyed some of the episodes. But most of them were just plain disappointing and even a bit ridiculous (Dorcas Lane, the coolest woman ever, standing in the backyard of the hotel crying like a little girl in front of a stranger because he doesn't want to interact with the world??!?!). Dorcas Lane is a lot weaker and I think thats what bothered me most. I've also seen enough petty little fights between Robert and Emma. And strangers coming to town, disrupting the community. And Twister getting all weird in the head. And Thomas freaking out. And does it ever rain in Lark Rise, unless it's part of the story? I still enjoyed it cause I plain LOVED the first series and still love the characters and the setting. But it more and more reminds me of a soap in costumes. Where are the subtleties, the quirkiness the uniqueness of the first season? And I'm especially missing the wisdom. The characters have started to act like the Hollywood versions of them would do. I already wasn't too fond of the second season (James Dowland wasn't my kind of guy) but it still had great episodes and believable plots. But the third was truly disappointing. But still - I can't wait for the fourth!
