About the Author

Peter Bently is the award-winning best-selling picture book author of Shark in the Dark, Lark in the Ark, The Great Dog Bottom Swap and Cats Ahoy! He won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize in 2011. Peter first became interested in writing for children after the birth of his son, Theo. Two years later he and his wife swapped a minuscule flat in North London for a spacious house in South Devon, an area where you cannot throw a fresh scone with jam and clotted cream without hitting another writer. He now has two children, Theo (7) and Tara (4), to try out his story ideas on. Peter's favourite animals are llamas.

Lynne Chapman has illustrated more than 30 children's books. She works in pastels, creating humorous but beautiful drawings that bring a whole range of characters to life, and burst with fun and vibrant colour. She loves the hands-on messiness of the chalk, its colour palette and unique texture. Lynne lives and works in Sheffield with her husband. When not in her studio, or out visiting schools, Lynne likes to walk on the Derbyshire moors near her home, rummage in second-hand bookshops, jive and eat Thai food. She is also part of The Electric Tomatoes, a group of writers who perform in local venues, and is a regular guest on BBC Radio Sheffield. Her website is www.lynnechapman.co.uk Lynne's favourite animals are wallabies.

A gift from Grandparents, this book soon became a firm favourite. Very colourful with great images and lots of flaps to lift. So good we bought two to send to friends in Australia and New Zealand for their children.

Bought this book for my 3 year old & he loves it already. Brightly illustrated with lots of things going on. The flaps seem slightly sturdier than most lift the flap books. I can see why it was shortlisted for the red house childrens book awards! I would recommend this for anyone's child or as a lovely present.

This was a favourite library book for both of my two children when they were little, so I couldn't resist getting a copy for my small niece. It's a colourful book with a humorous story about Noah's animals playing hide and seek in his bedroom. The illustrations are lovely and there are plenty of (fairly sturdy) flaps to peep under too. When I mentioned to my kids that I'd ordered this book, they immediately laughed and sang out "wombats in combats and bears in flares". It's been about 7 years since we read it last but they still remember it - surely the sign of a great children's book.

20 month old grandson loves this book. Lots of colourful pages with lots of flaps to lift to find the animals hiding and wearing Mr & Mrs Noah's clothes such as bats in hats, goats in coats, owls in towels etc. Thicker paper than most books, so although not hardback, still quite sturdy

Looks like a fun book - had a quick look through before giving as a present for a friend's 3-year old. Hopefully he'll enjoy lifting the flaps and while Mummy or Daddy read him the story.
