When Michael and Tania Sullivan first met in high school in 1988 little did they know what the future held in store for them. Now, 23 years later, they have nine children and twins on the way! Realising there was a lot of curiosity surrounding large families, Tania started their blog www.largerfamilylife.com to give an insight into their every day lives. Three years on they decided to put the most commonly asked questions together in one place. Here they explain how their convictions regarding family planning changed to how they rode through life's rollercoaster to reach where they are today. Along with their story they share the things they have learnt along the way, from budgeting tips, to homeschooling to introducing a new baby into the family. Larger Family Life, the book, is a must read for anybody who has a large family of their own or is simply interested to know more about the logistics of having a large family.

Really enjoyed this book. Had some helpful tips I hadn't thought of before about budgeting and managing a home with lots of children. May not have agreed with everything she said, but that's ok. It's worth a look!
What a great read. I rarely pick up a book and can't put it down, but this one was compelling reading. I read it cover to cover within a few hours. It's great that it set out in an easy to read format, so if you are a mum of many it is easy to pick up and start where you left off. It will challenge some to rethink their views on the 'stereotypical' large family we often see belittled or criticized in the media. Tania and husband Mike set a brilliant example to families everywhere, whether you have a large brood, 2.4 children or an only child. Parents & politicians everywhere could learn a thing or two from their example, their values, and their honesty. Although the book documents sensitive subjects like miscarriage, and discusses controversial topics such as overpopulation, family planning and home schooling, it addresses them thoroughly with an honest and easily read style as it deals with all the FAQ's. I was enlightened by Tania and Mikes honesty over their personal and spiritual journeys and found it completely inspiring. Hats off to both of them ! ( Donna, mum of 6)
This book is very, very good. It is well written and talks about the practicalities of managing a large family, I was really impressed by its content. There are useful tips and references to other sources for more information if needed. The writer describes her own experiences which gives the book such a unique feel and also gives it clout that she knows what she is talking about as she is living it!!! I will definately recommend this book to other large families that I know and some small families as some of the organisation/ homeschool advice can apply to anyone. It is sad in some places and funny in others, such a refreshing read, honest and real. I believe the only UK book of its kind, all the other larger family books I have sourced are American so this is such a great change as it is more applicable to the UK. 10/10
