It's a flat pack chest of drawers with simple instructions that are reasonably easy to follow. It was assembled by my good self in about two hours, although this would have been faster had I had someone else to assist. But is CAN be done by one person, which is good.
As you assemble it, you see how everything works nicely together and how much goes into the construction, and you realise that the sheer amount of screws holding it together will make it a very sturdy piece of furniture indeed! And it is.
It does look pine, although a little on the shiny side for my liking, and does NOT look like a premium piece of furniture, but it is far better than cheap catalogue veneered pine offerings.
On the downside, it STINKS. No I mean it, it stunk the palce out when I first got it, and I was so worried about this I contacted the seller, who said it was a varnish on the product and that the smell would eventually go. It's been over a month since I got the chest and the smell is almost but not quite gone, and to be honest the smell is from the wood on the OUTSIDE not the inside, so my clothes have not picked up the stench at all.
So if you are prepared for the smell (which seems endemic according to the seller and not an unusual thing to ask about) then this is a good chest to go for.
