Product Description

While on a mission for the CIA to recover stolen Iraqi artifacts, Lara Croft narrowly escapes death–only to be thrown headlong into her next action-packed adventure.

After destroying years of his research on the ancient Méne cult, archaeologist Professor Frys is murdered by an unknown assassin. Lara Croft knows her colleague must have stumbled upon a dangerous secret–and someone took his life to ensure it would remain in the shadows. So Lara jets to the mysterious cloud forests of eastern Peru, home of the Méne ruins, and makes a shocking discovery: A group is attempting to revive the sinister cult and its mind-controlling ways. One of the followers is Lara’s former friend and failed protégé, Tomb Raider Ajay–and she is determined to see Lara silenced . . . permanently. But Lara, never one to run from a challenge, has other plans.

The book starts. Lara's infiltrating a building and once again is trying to find some sort of artifact but what she finds out leads her to her biggest adventure yet.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The lost Cult is written fantastically by E.E Knight. He matches Lara's attitude and describes her scenery with amazing detail. The book interests you with every chapter revealing more and more as you read on.

Lara's on a hunt to avenge a fellow archeaologist called Professer Fry's and meets an old friend along the way. Her ols arch nemesis Alsion a.k.a Ajay. Ajay's gotten into the wrong crowd and it's up to Lara to save her along with the rest of the world plus a man with a robotick arm helps her out aswell. E.E Knight cleverly places hints from many of the Tomb Raider games leaving fans of the game going "Oh yea that's in Tomb Raider 2!"

To conclude it's a great book worth re-reading and fills the waiting gap between TR6 and TR7.

Have you noticed how action heroes always choose comics to show off their latest escapade. It's not surprising really. A comic allows you to see all the action - which is the reason for the subject in the first place. Not so with a book. The author has no control over how you construct in your head what it is they are fictionalising. Because of this books are usually paced with a distinct lack of action. I read the two Tomb Raider movie novelisations and these were OK because you had the movie to relate to to build the scenes and judge the pace. Then I read Mike Resnick's Tomb Raider - Amulet Of Power and was not impressed. Having just finished the latest Del Ray Books escapade of Lara Croft I can say that Eric Knight has done her Ladyship proud. The book is brilliantly written paying careful attention to the history and psyche of Tomb Raider with reference to both gaming and movie exploits. Because of this it makes it so much easier to visualise - and this is important. Lara Croft was never billed as a character in a book so anyone writing about her needs to get it right. I now await James Gardner's Tomb Raider - Man Of Bronze and he'd better get it right too or for my money Eric Knight can have another go at it...

My opinion of this book is that its ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. This book fills in the gap between the Tomb Raider: Last Revelation and the Angel of Darkness.
In this book we learn how she narrowly escapes death....and then immediately gets thrown into the path of the Mahdists and their search of the Amulet of Mareish. Lara's character was just as I had imagined it to be and the plots twists and turns made me finish reading the book the day i got it!!
Lara Croft fans won't be disappointed by this novel!!!!!!
