4.0 out of 5 stars Different but not unexpected 11 Jun 2012
By MattB88
Format:Audio CD
If you've been following BT's radio show Laptop Symphony you'll have noticed that he is including for the first time a lot of dubstep and other EDM tracks.
CD1 highlights this by offering a very bass heavy electronic club-ready 1hr 10 seamless mix of some of the highlights from his radio show. It is not as refined as his own work and a far cry from This Binary Universe, but ultimately the track listing gives you a good idea of what to expect albeit the tracks are heavily remixed with him adding his unique touch to them.
CD2 is more trance focused allowing for a wind down after CD1, beginning with the memorable Counting the Points from Bayer and ending with a fantastic rework of Flaming June.

If you want to know whether to include this CD in your collection just look at the track list and listen to one or two of BT's radio shows. Don't expect something on the level of This Binary Universe or These Beautiful Machines but expect a decent compilation album.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average CD complilation from my hero 7 Jun 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
First let me say, I'm a massive BT fan. Got all his work, seen him live and understand he likes to experiment.

I've not been blown away by the laptop symphony podcasts but, thought that a compilation CD would bring together the best of the music BT has mixed through these casts. CD1 is by far the weaker of the 2 cd's in my opinion but the 2nd CD redeems the purchase and is more what I'd expect, with a positive twist due to the mixes.

My recommendation, play CD2 first and leave CD1 in the box.

Looking forwards to BT's next 'BT' album.

3.0 out of 5 stars BT - Phone Home 16 Jun 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
having played disc1 was fearing the worst but cd2 makes up for purchase. CD1 not very sure where it would make sense listening to tunes its a bit allover the place and is full fast paced no vocals not a easy listen.
but cd2 very nice mixes and makes up for a poor cd1 IMHO
will retry CD1 just to check but I always go on my initial experience and it wasnt a good one.
still good value at less than £8 cant go wrong
cd1 2 star
CD2 4 star
