Product Description
This superb notebook/laptop cooling mat uses a macromolecular compound for the absorption of excess heat. This compound remains in crystal or granular form up to temperatures of 25c. The granuals will slowly absorb any heat and will change their molecular appearance, forming a viscous gel that will continually absorb heat and allow any item in contact to dissipate its own heat output. When a laptop computer is placed on the mat, the mat will absorb large amounts of heat from the notebook base. It is able to do this without disrupting any of the natural flow of air through the notebook's cooling vents. It allows more than 5 hours of continual usage, depending on the ambient environment and amount of heat produced from the notebook, without the need for providing any form of external power. Under natural conditions the crystals in the mat will automatically reform as the temperature falls below 25c, allowing it to be used over & over again.

It works fairly well. However, to use this to its full potential, the mat needs to be placed under the computer once it is fairly hot and not before it starts getting hot. Otherwise the mat warms us faster. Once placed, the mat will cool the laptop. Unfortunately the mat does not last the stated 5 hours. Once the mat becomes more "gel" than "crystal" it begins to warm up the laptop rather than cooling it. Personally I would recommend getting a fan.

My laptop never fails to overheat even when idling and I have had several of the USB powered fan trays with little success. So far this seems to be the best solution I have found and works exactly as promised in the description. As my laptop only overheats in one area the gel doesn't fill the whole pad, so as it starts to warm I can just turn it round and the cooling starts to work again. I have had a full 5 hours usage out of my laptop using this - something that wasn't possible using a fan tray so I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a quick fuss free solution. (Its also a lot comfier to have on your lap than the cooling trays as it doesn't have any plastic legs, and you can move it around without worrying about the fan going with it!)

This gel knee pad realy does work keeps your knees nice and cool. It also fits nicly into your lap top bag so it is all together

Disaster
