The whole idea behind "Lanty Hanlon" is so comical, First of, He is baptised in poteen and when he leaves the town he's only 20 miles away and yet it is seen to be a great ardious journey to the next town, also the comical image of lanty in a red petty coat running up the road just begins the road of surealism, without giving too much away it's dam good book...
