A friend brought some camping last year; He used to be a firework obsessive, but found these are safer, cheaper and don't frighten his kids(!)
Setting off a lantern always has a magical/hypnotic effect. Children can draw on it, hang cut-out people from it, chase it through fields.....
And (my trick!) try tethering them from fishing line like kites..........!

I have to admit, I was initially dubious about these as I thought, `paying money to watch something fly away doesn't seem that appealing'. After a break away over New Year, I saw people letting these off over a frozen(ish) river and I have to say that it was quite spectacular with fireworks going off in the background.
I bought these and the pack contains four lanterns which are very well packaged. They are very fun and do make a moment quite special especially watching them disappear into the distance - I also have the fun game of seeing other lanterns and saying, `that might be mine'.
I'd like to try the other suggestion of attaching fishing wire to keep them from flying off. Overall, if you are going to buy them, really are fun and you won't regret it.

We set one of these off on my young son's birthday. We all watched mesmerised as it slowly drifted skywards..a beautiful sight and a memory we will all treasure. Now everyone in the family is looking forward to releasing a sky lantern on their birthday and making a wish as it takes off. Fantastic for any special occasion and very good value.

THEY'RE NOT THAT BAD (when they are floating in the sky)

Not as simple as you might think!

Rubbish product
