Hep mar ! This is without a doubt the best book (and whole course) on the Cornish language.
This book offers a gradual introduction to the language, but still manages to cover a lot of important material.
It is very, very well written and unlike some language books which go on endlessly about grammar, this book really deals with the language - allowing you to pick up the grammar without worrying about it to much :-)
The book is also of very high quality - matching if not exceeding the quality you would expect to find in other language courses at book shops on, for example, French or German.
I can also recommend the "Kernewek Mar Plek - Books 1 and 2" (Written by a different author) as other good learning material, although these are more fundamental, as an introduction they are hard to beat...
Gladly the "Skeul an Yeth" books offer a proper structure for learning Cornish, which does'nt suddenly cut off when you've reached a certain level, instead the course progresses to more advanced levels in Books 2 and 3. I shall be interested to see if the books continue onto Books 4,5...
I also recommend the tapes that are available as part of this course, as these can really help you to grasp pronunciation and pick up the language a lot more easily. They are also fairly interesting to listen to, in that different speakers appear on the tape - allowing you to get a better view of how the pronunciation varies with gender or from person to person.
All I can say further is, if you are interested in learning Cornish -
