The book is very OB/Gyn language oriented, which is nice for the clerkship because it's a language unto itself. The book is also detail oriented, which is good because the shelf exam for ob/gyn is quite detail oriented--the most specific one by far I think. Knowing the details behind diseases and management definitely helped with the trickiness of board questions. You may need lots of time to run through it, I used five weeks during clerkship and nearly finished. Unfortunately , all the OB is in front of the book, and I had two OB questions on the actual test, meaning I ran out of time before studying the gyn onc section which there was more of on the actual test. I would mark questions you missed and redo them, it helped me at least; and I would alternate between a gyn and an ob chapter.
I don't give four stars because the book is awkwardly riddled with errors--it says the answer is "C", but then explains why the option for A is the correct answer, and that happened throughout the book and became frustrating. It claims to explain wrong answer choices, but really does not do that very adequately or often. Overall, though, it was worth the time and effort.
Good luck
