We based a 7 day walking holiday last July around the sunflower Cyprus guide. It is well worth purchasing the guide before you book as it gives useful advice on the best places to stay on the island for walking. We opted for the Akamas peninsula. A beautifully unspoilt strip of land in the north west. The guide gives plenty of routes to choose from - including some lovely walks in the Troodos mountains. Do follow the book's advice on walking seasons carefully though as some of the longer routes are unsuitable in high summer due to the temperature and exposure. Note also that the guide does not cover northern (Turkish) Cyprus.

Bought this book for the short holiday in Cyprus. Thought, wrongly, that it would cover all of Cyprus. However, it only has walks on the Greek side of Cyprus, not a single one on for North Cyprus. A little map on the back shows this fact, but when one buys it via amazon, it is not mentioned and the search inside doesn't work for me. So folks, be warned if you want to walk in North Cyprus.
Looking at the walks, they look actually very nice and fairly good described. I would be happy to use it on the Greek side.

I have used several of this series and find them one of the best for the independent (walking) traveller. I took this edition (the latest) on our first trip to Cyprus this year and as usual was not (very) disappointed - however there is a big if here - this edition is now well out of date and if I hadn't used the excellent on-line update facility it could have been disastrous. There is a positive point here - this publisher encourages on-line updates/comments/corrections and makes them freely available, unlike many "smug" travel writers. This guide, in common with the series, offers an outstanding approach to travel guides oriented to the independent traveller with a pleasant mix of walks and car tours punctuated by useful tips on local culture, transport and picnic spots. Another winner from Sunflower, shame about the date, I wish i had the time to volunteer to write the update.
