For anyone interested in British history and how the landscape has developed and changed over the years, this has to be a must watch. The documentaries are a bit short (half-an-hour each, a pity), the stories are simply told (nothing wrong with that) and the presenter is top rate, as is the photography. Just the sort of intelligent TV that should be encouraged. Highly recommended.

Originally got the box set of 3 dvd's which i found really interesting. Aubrey Manning really is a star & really makes each programme,I then found that there was another dvd in the series so rushed & got that one as well .So do make sure that you get the 4 dvd box set instead of the 3 . A great series that really opens your eyes to the Landscape around you , very highly recommended.

Aubrey Manning has a unique talent in explaining the whys and wherefores of how the world about looks like it does!
He keeps the interest going throughout the series, and conjures up images of long time past.
I wish he had been a teacher at our school all those decades ago. He would have carried the pupils to even greater heights.
The photography is excellent, the subjects interesting, and we could do with some more of the same.

Too expensive
It's a very interesting series and I've seen it all through a couple of times, but this set is overpriced for just 4 hours of content which is why I only give it 3 stars

great archeology
This is an interesting somewhat off beat approach to some natural/archeological questions. I waited until the boxed set was available from amazon and it was worth the wait.

a very good buy
informative, interesting, well presented an exceptionally interesting dvd. however it is more for the enthusiast than for a general audience as it is long and in depth.
