I wonder when the senior marketing executives at Lancome sat down to write the spiel about their product description for "Hypnose Homme", firstly what had heightened their loquacious outpourings, and secondly, were they able to keep a straight face when they read their fantastical copy to others? I would presume that they would not have written something they didn't believe themselves so I can only assume that their personal gullibility was much greater than most.
The product description is full of 'fresh lavender and amber harmony', 'Top notes - fresh green spicy notes..', 'blend created by combining the plant nature of mint...' and on and on and on. But the all time hyperbole is that the bottle is 'an object of pure desire'! It is a simple bottle made to keep the fluid in, nothing more or nothing less and as yet I have not met a single human being who claims to harbour 'desires for a glass bottle' have you?
Whilst on the dispenser, most perfume companies distinguish the aperture from which the fluid is sprayed from the pump button. Lancome don't, both are coloured black making it difficult to see the direction of the spray resulting, in my case of quite a lot of it now coating my shaving mirror.
And the actual product itself? Not bad at all giving off a very pleasant, sweetish but manly aroma when first applied but I have known other Eau De Toilettes with a bit better longevity and longer presence.
