I have been given Lancia Integrale the full story for Christmas, due to the fact that I own one of the afore mentioned. It is a great DVD and good to see the old girl in action, but with a couple of grumbles.
1. The Lancia Delta S4 was a 1.8 not a 2ltr.
2. Most so called motor sport journalists always blame the Delta S4 for hitting a crowd of spectators and due to the death of Henry Toivonen & Sergio Cresto getting Group B banned.
Information from the book `Rallying 21 years of world championships' by David & Amanda Campbell:
In the 1986 Rally of Portugal, due to bad crowd control and before even completing the first stage, Triple Portuguese champion Joaquim Santos lost control of his Ford RS200 ploughing into a crowd of spectators. Four were killed and many others were injured.
Sadly the unfortunate death of Henry Toivonen & Sergio Cresto was an attributing factor to the ban.
3. The DVD did not show any rallying footage of 1992 - the last year that the Lancia Delta HF Integrale won the championship. The commentator insultingly and incorrectly said that it was down to shear weight of numbers!
I feel that who ever produced the DVD either run out of time or just got bored and could not be bothered to show the final championship year...
