This book is quite different in style from Rae Beth's other two books, but it is written in the same reassuring tone. The book is split into two parts - the first being a description of what exactly the dark goddess is and some of her stories and the second a series of exercises so that you can find out for yourself. Interwoven through these are stories from the author's own, sometimes gruesome, past life experiences. A belief in reincarnation, however, is not necessary to benefit from this book. Her experiences from the mythical land of Atlantis could be seen as a timely warning for planet Earth today , or just a thought provoking story. It is left entirely for the reader to decide what they do or do not believe. On the subject of reincarnation, the ideas put forward, without wishing to spoil the book, are similar to those expressed in James Redfield's 'Celestine Prophesy' series. Not entirely new ground, but it never claimed to be. For me this book answered a lot of questions and helped clarify the idea of the dark goddess, which I really did not understand and is little talked about in many new age 'witchy' books. This book is essential reading for anyone wishing to follow on from 'Hedgewitch' or 'Hedgewitch's Way'.
