Product Description

Product Description

When the 495bhp Gallardo was launched in 2004, motoring journalists were impressed - this stylish supercar combined the ferocity of Lamborghini with the polish and practicality of Audi and, at around GBP115,000, didn't scorch the wallet quite as much as its bigger brother, the Murcielago. Lamborghinis have always quickened the pulse, of course, and this book shows why. Packed with model analysis, driving impressions, technical specifications, buying hints, personal anecdotes and sumptuous photographs, it tells the story of this exotic marque, from the peasant background of the founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, to its burning ambition to beat Ferrari in the manufacture of supercars.

About the Author

Anthony Pritchard, an authoritative writer with a speciality for Italian marques, is the author of Haynes' successful Maserati: a racing history and Scarlet Passion: Ferrari's famed sports prototypes and competition sports cars 1962-73. He lives at Wooburn Green, in Buckinghamshire.

Excellent 3 Oct 2009
Format:Hardcover
If you are a Lamborghini fan then ANY book about the marque is worth it. Putting that aside the book for the casual reader is still worth having

A good all around Lamborghini Book 14 Jan 2008
By Christopher Ohlgren - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I ordered it with some others and was not expecting this one to be as good as it was.

The Good = This book does a really good job of presenting a lot of information in a quick and easy to read format. The book covers history, people, the cars and even mentions the marine engine business. There is an article written by an owner who bought an old car and restored it. I was surprised how much information was there. Each chapter had articles included in it, as a way to get more information about a subject, without interupting the flow of the story. I loved the format. For the money, this is a great buy.

The Bad = Some of the pictures could have been better (there are still plenty of good ones). This book never gets too in depth on any one subject. It is more of a "little of everything" style of writing. Not a lot of new information for the Lamborghini book collector.

Conclusion = This is a really good overall Lamborghini book. For the price it is wonderful. For the hard core reader/owner/collector, this might seem a bit light.

Good Overall Lambo book 31 Dec 2010
By BAP - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Received as a gift. The pictures are great, always would like more but one has to be reasonable. Great way to go through the history of the marquee. Super shots of the Miura and Countach...my favourites, but also nice shots of the recent and current models. I really enjoyed this book.
