Product Description

Product Description

A glamorous addition to a popular series, this book celebrates four of Lamborghini's most sensational models: Miura, Countach, Diablo and Murcielago. The author takes us through the development of the Lamborghini V12 engine and on to the creation of the Miura, one of the most breathtaking supercars of all time, before moving on to analyse its exotic descendants in the form of Countach, Diablo and Murcielago. Superbly illustrated throughout, this book also covers some less predictable topics, making it an essential purchase for every discerning Lamborghini enthusiast.

Sure it looks nice, and there are some stunning studio shots of these Raging Bulls inside, but there are also some very serious errors in the book unfortunately.
The Diablo section talks about an early prototype and actually shows the P140 concept, a Jalpa replacement that never materialized. For the SE30 Jota the book shows a race prepared Jota P model of which only 3 were built, again a serious error as the SE30 Jota didn't look the same as these P-versions.

On the upside, the sections on replicas are really nice to read, also the book covers some of the tuning available.

All in all it's a nice book, but I wish the author did some more research to get his facts straight.

For Lamborghini fans it is a must have, as is every book about Lamborghini if you are interested in the marque.
For me always worth the price, but I am a little biased towards the marque

A great Book about Lamborghini 14 Jan 2008
By Christopher Ohlgren - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I have several Lamborghini books and am a Lamborghini owner. I was really excited about this book. I got it for Christmas and just finished reading it.

The Good = The photos are amazing! I think the photos in this book are better than any other Lamborghini Book I have seen. A nice touch is that many of the car photos are touched up and appear on white without a background (like the cover). I liked this because you can really focus on the car. The book is also very well written. There is a lot of history and detail about the cars performance, construction, and people involved. There was also a lot of information about all of the cars from the factory. This book was a good general Lamborghini book with much information and history.

The Bad = I was expecting this to be the definitive book about the Lamborghini flagships, the Miura, Countach, Diablo and Mercielago. It was more of a general overview than I expected and a lot like my other books. Almost every car produced by Lamborghini had a few paragraphs about it. There was also history and information about the people at Lamborghini. The Miura, Countach, Diablo and Mecielago are covered little more than in any other book on the subject. This book is very very similar to Lamborghini: Supercars from Sant'Agata (Haynes Classic Makes) Both books have the same publisher and cover most of the same information. This book gives a lot of info on Lamborghini kit cars.

Conclusion = This is an excellent Lamborghini book and a fine addition to any Lamborghini book collection. If you are expecting something unique, new, and dedicated to the Miura, Countach, Diablo and Mercialago, you will probably be a little disappointed.

Lamborghini: Miura Coutach Diablo Murcielago (Haynes Great Cars) 28 April 2008
By Mr XJS - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
An enjoyable book with good photography and gives a decent, albiet brief rundown on the various incarnations of each model. I would have liked to see a little more information on the Muira Jota, which was briefly mentioned.

For in depth detail on each car, this book is not the greatest, but for a general overview, plus all performance statistics, it does the job nicely. It is well written and keeps the reader engaged. A decent addition to an automobile library.

Lamborghini:Miura Countach Diablo Murcielago(Haynes Great Cars) Book,Hardcover. 12 July 2010
By Jose Lopez - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I just got this book for a good deal, a beautiful laid out hardcover.I love the cover with the green Miura. Book is full of pictures black and white and color, It is also written intelligently(however it's an english author/publisher,Curb Weight is Kerb Weight,Etc). The writing is even comical at times, example when describing Lamborghini kit cars(a small box entitled Shamborghinis to describe Many Countach Kits the good the bad and the ugly), It is also brutally honest when it describes cars that have only been updated yet are suppose to be a new model. Some Lambo owners might not like it or may not be the end all lambo source as the author says many lambo owners criticize lambo books for being incomplete but the factory was not complete in its records. Also describes Saint'Agatha as fervently leftwing even communist despite the income of the average resident(typical communist)and the problem with the unions and local folk. I feel though he gives too much credit to Audi and the newer models and Countach/huge wings criticism bothers me as does the 80's comment"greed is good"era(that's a myth, like the movie wall street) I do not profess to be a Lambo Expert by any Means but I feel that the book was not boring and worth my time and money. I recommend it for the Lambo owner or casual admirer like me.
