I bought this for my 8 week old baby after a big search for the perfect baby gym. There are so many out there! However, I think I made the best choice. Like all the Lamaze toys, the baby gym is eye catching and colourful. The large eyed toys engaged my baby immediately, as did the striking patterns which cover the whole thing.
It's very light weight and folds into a lovely little 'house' with a handle, which I suspect my little girl will like to carry around with her when she's much older. She's 4 months old now and still very much enjoying looking at the patterns and reaching for and bashing the toys. The musical sun plays upbeat catchy tunes (choice of 2 volumes)but I'm surprised there isn't a lullabye option. The tunes play for quite a long time before automatically switching off (but you can turn it off manually of course).
I thought it was a bargain at half the recommended retail price (from amazon). Not sure I'd pay the full price for this or any baby gym though.

I would highly recommend this baby gym. We bought it for our (then) 2 month old at Christmas, and she loves it. Lots of details to hold her attention. The hanging toys are beautifully made and are fully detachable so enabling them to be changed around or taken off. The musical light is original and has a motion-activated option. "Tummy time" is well catered for, with lots of interesting graphics to look at. The best bit of the gym is it's ability to grow with your child, so it's not going to be something they will grow out of quickly. It's so versatile I can see she will be playing with it, in all it's different options, for some time to come. This is our 3rd baby, and the Lamaze gym is by far the best we've ever had.

After much research we decided on this playmat for our daughter- it has been a real success! From a very early age (2 weeks) she was mesmerised by the contrasting coloured panels on the mat. As she has got older (now 16 weeks) she loves the sun and is visibly excited by the tunes the sun plays! She has now begun to grab the dolls and because they are soft and detachable they are perfect for little hands to explore. A couple of our friends' children have used it at our house and the 8 month old was delighted with it and a 3 year old also enthralled.
It represents excellent quality and value for money and is likely to be a real play staple. As a bonus it can also be machine washed!
