I bought Marina for my daughter when she was about three months old and she loves her! At first she spent ages gazing into her eyes and i'm always catching her smiling at her and babbling away! There is lots for baby to do - textured easy to grab hair, teether, rattle crinkly tail and mirror. Marina is usually clipped on to my daughter's swing so that she can play with her sitting up and she strokes her hair when she goes to sleep :) Definitely recommended for your baby's first doll.

Mariana was bought as a gift for my neice. I have bought a lot of lamaze toys for my son and the two of them are only a month apart. Unfortunatly i have not been able to buy him any of the dolls with him being a boy so decided that my neice had to have one for christmas. I chose Mariana as she was my favorite and i was not disappointed. She makes a lovely first doll and is a very good size, as all the play and grow range seem to be. She is full of lovely vibrant colours and textures for my neice to explore with a mirror hidden away on her tail and a teething seahorse and starfish rattle attached to her hands. The only downside is she doesn't have a squeaker, i only mention this as the squeakers on the lamaze toys i have for my son have proved very effective in distracting him and preventing an oncoming tantrum. All in all though Mariana is a lovely toy from lamaze and i would definatly recommend for any little girls.

I must confess I bought this toy for my baby boy. I read all the other opinions on this product and saw there were all for girls, but I felt that a 6 months old baby is more attracted by bright colors and nice chewable toys than by gender-correct toys. And I was right. He absolutely loves it. He's teething, so the tail has all sort of small teeth marks, hehehe. Adorable! The toy feels sturdy and the different materials get his undivided attention. Even the label can be chewed and squeezed and licked all day long, so I didn't cut it off. He likes to feel the fabric above the tail, which makes a noise when his little fingers play with it.
So far nothing got loose, nothing got broken, the hair is still on, the rattle-star is there, so is the small green seahorse and the blue flower. I pulled on every little string before giving the toy to my baby, and it was all ok.
All in all, a great toy, funny, bright and really nice to look at. I'm very glad I bought it. Great price, too, if it matters.
