My grandson, Arthur (eight months when I bought it for him, now nine months) and I love this toy. He squeaks with excitement when he sees it. Apart from the crinkly hat, he loves the rattling ball on the end of one of the tentacles, and the two rings on the end of another. I don't think he's paid much attention to the mirror yet. I love him because he just looks so funny!

My 6 week old got this as a late present loved it straight away. She is now 10 weeks old and always try's to grip it and pulls it. When tired she stares at it and it soothes her with its coloured arms and mirror. She has loads of toys but always goes for her Lamaze ones first and Captain is her favourite.

Lovely!
My three month old loves cooing at Captain Octupus and often falls asleep holding the rings in the car. He doesn't really notice the mirror, but I'm sure he will as he gets older.

Present for a premature baby
