This book works best in conjunction with "Rough Guide to the Lake District" as between them they tick all the boxes for walks, attractions etc

We used the Atlas and Guide every day. The Information and the maps helped us to plan our days out.

If you want to visit the towns of Lakeland then this book is interesting and the maps of the area are very good too. However, I was looking for information on places to stay, walks etc. altogether more rural than the contents of this guide. This is a visitors guide for people who don't stray far from their cars, not for the rambler or serious hiker.

Found this book very useful for getting about in the lakes but not ideal for walkers as not all footpaths included.

Ecellent guide to were i was going.
After booking my holaday to Windermere i hadnt got a clue were anything in the lakes was. I was one of tho people who alway seam to get lost. Read more
