Laetitia first discovered gardening when she found a packet of seeds at the bottom of a forgotten Christmas stocking. She threw away the mouldy tangerine, ate the walnut and spent the pound coin on some chocolate buttons. The seeds, she opened up and scattered amongst some revolting soil she found in her back yard, inside a mug...no drainage, no love, no knowledge...and yet they sprouted, in spite of her; She was instantly, irretrievably hooked. Because she had no garden to speak of, she did all her playing with plants on her balcony and windowsills, translating the gardens she loved and longed for and dreamed about, into versions that would fit on her dining table or in her bathroom, and growing luxurious, tasty morsels for eating greedily (and probably in secret). www.laetitiamaklouf.com
