Product Description

Such was the power of the BEAUTY INSIDE her that Winter turned to Spring in her path and flowers grew in her footsteps. Edward Monkton's verse dedicated to an extraordinary woman, whose incredible gift was to radiate beauty from within...perfect for Mother's Day. Edward Monkton books are highly collectable and stylish gifts-- at home on a coffee table, in the bathroom, in quiet places, and perfect for giving to a loved one or for keeping for yourself. This is a charming portrait of an amazing woman, whose inner beauty turned Winter into Spring. A lovely, lyrical story, The Lady who was Beautiful Inside celebrates those who deserve praise most. Each book in this new series is an original story, charmingly illustrated, and created especially for this brand-new series of gift books. Hand-lettered in the same style as the Edward Monkton cards by the Really Good company, the tales are wonderfully packaged with the utmost style and attention to detail to make these hugely desirable objects and perfect gifts for special occasions. These creations prove there is a universal and enduring audience for stories that inspire and touch hearts.

About the Author

Edward Monkton is a relative of Purple Ronnie, the other well-known creation of Giles Andreae. The three of them live together, philosophising and generally at peace with themselves and the world.

3.0 out of 5 stars A "feel good" tale for all ladies everywhere, 5 Sep 2004
A fabulous tale again from Monkton about the beauty that is in all of us and radiated from within ourselves. A great positive message when you're having "one of those days" and a lovely gift for all female friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, 4 Jan 2006

I thought this book was truely beautiful, i had tears in my eyes. I think it underlyes a very important fact and that is that we are all beautiful inside and that we need to see it.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Dull Dissapointment, 23 Jun 2004
While the pictures in this book are as charming as the ones in Monkton's greating card range the story is simplistic and has none of the wit of those cards. I cannot fathom why it is in the poetry bestsellers list. It is not funny it is just soppy and silly. Perhaps some people will tell you I am being cold and heartless and this book has a positive message that deserves a hearing.
They are wrong. Try Michael Rosen's Carrying The Elephant for some deeper, warmer, truly uplifting poetry.
