The two original vinyl LPs joined here on a 'toofer' CD are of such an outstanding quality it would be inconceivable to rate them at any less than five stars (read my review of the single disc version of 'The Hermit' elsewhere on this site). However, the idea of sticking them both on one CD somewhat steals their individual thunder. They really are complete masterworks on their own and weren't meant to be listened to this way. Nevertheless, if you go for this version for financial reasons or convenience I suggest you play them with an interruption half way through, in case you want a truthful impression of the artist's intentions.

As in general with Transatlantic LPs reissued on CD the sound is as good as you can get on mass produced compact discs.
