This is a brilliant classic movie part 2 of the lady Snowblood series the original kill Bill refurbished and in mint condition, Meiko Kaji also starred in the original Prisoner 701 Sasori series but I can't find affordable copies. The remake with Miki Mizuno is good but I want to watch the original

A seminal 70's martial arts movie, atmospheric and cinematic. Spoilt only by it's "Up T' Workers" message. And possibly the deer stalker hats worn by the "secret police".
Lady Snowblood is the post feminist icon and kick arse action hero that Tarantino based Oren Isshi E on in Kill Bill 1. You may recognise scenes from KB1 & KB2 in the movie.
It's only drawback is that it also trys to cover a quite complex time in Japanese history. That being the post Russo Japanese War period, when the military, after defeating the Tzar's forces were in effect taking power as the new shogunate.
That being said it is still way cool.

Not as good as Lady Snowblood 1 but a great watch. If you like the Lone wolf and cub filmss (Babycart series) then you will like this. Lady Snowblood 2 is like the first film ageless. Dont be put off by the lead being a woman as the acting is first class and the fights never over done. Watch the first film before this and you wont regret it. If you like asian cinema you will love this.
