Book Description

21 Oct 2011 Mills & Boon Hardback Historical
Having run away from home to avoid an unwanted betrothal, Lady Elizabeth Copeland must keep her disguise as an elderly lady's companion at all times.Even when she's called upon to nurse the lady's nephew--who rather infuriatingly happens to be the most incredible-looking man she's ever seen....Elizabeth yearns to break out of Betsy's drab dresses to reveal that she's of the same blue blood as the rakish Nathaniel. But she must not! Unless Nathaniel gets under her guard, and elicits a confession....

3.0 out of 5 stars insulting 26 Jan 2012
By ALICE MORGAN - Published on
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I read a lot of historicals. I was very disappointed in this book. This is the third in a trilogy and throughout the book Lord Thorne sexually harrasses the heroine catching her along on staircases, invading her bedroom, catching her outside. He is outraged when others harrass her but shows no shame at his actions as he is bored and needs diversion. The author showed no respect for the heroine. Lord Thorne showed no remorse for his actions until he realized she was one of the Lady Copelands late in the book even though it was obvious she was a lady having hard times. Shame on the author.

Awesome writer, even better book series. I totally loved reading all three books. I had the first two and was lacking the 3rd and was lucky enough to find it here on Amazon. Highly recommend if you enjoy reading historical love stories. This series is a must read. Shipping was prompt. No problems or issues to report here. Happy customer!!!

Again, I recommend this as a fun afternoon read. Read the 3 books in order for remembering who's who and motivations.

1.0 out of 5 stars So disappointing 9 Jan 2012
By Belinda E. Mcpherson - Published on
Format:Mass Market Paperback|Verified Purchase
I am a long time fan of C Mortimer's --especially her earlier work. This was the first regency book I have read of hers and I was so disappointed. In it was one sex scene, not a love scene, but a sex scene, that was so inappropriate not only for virtuous Ladies of the time, but had nothing to do with mutual passion or love for the other. How the charactor was suppose to carry from that moment in the book with any self-respect is beyond me. Badly done.
