The sony ereader comes with a USB cable to charge it from your computer, this doesn't work if your computer puts itself to sleep and also prevents you from using your ereader for the 4 hours while it's charging.
I bought this and what a relief! You can read while plugged into the mains and charging, it takes 2 hours to charge and I found that my ereader lasts longer and hold the charge better from this than from the USB cable. I do not regret buying this, I only wish they packaged it in with the ereader!

It came with european plug convertor as well as a 3-pin UK plug. Lightweight with minimal cables and the charger fits in the bag easily without taking too much space. Charged the reader fully without having to turn on the laptop. Yes I did use the PSP charger as well but even after a full charge the battery lasted much less. Worth every penny!!!

I found The Sony ebook adaptor an absolute necessity as the charger for the computer that comes with the reader doesn't work if your computer goes into sleep mode, so it stops charging. Also if you go away on holiday, you want a charger that you can use without having to cart along a laptop. I do think this charger is very good but very expensive I'm sure they could produce a cheaper version.

Also for PRS-300
Amazon "Product description" says it's for the PRS-505, but I have a PRS-300 and the manual specifies the ACS5220E as being suitable. My guess is it suits all Sony Readers. Read more

Power Adaptor
This item arrived very quickly it is just perfect in all respects.
