Garlic goes into nearly everything I cook, so I end up chopping garlic every night because I don't like using a garlic press as it gives a much more pungent flavour. I asked my daughter for this garlic chopper for Christmas and imagined it would be invaluable, and probably be useful for chopping fresh chillies too. But it is truly useless. It's incapable of cutting through garlic and nor will it do the chillies. The garlic clove just sticks to the blade on the first push down and simply hangs there. It's so badly designed that it's also impossible to wash, as parts all come apart from washing but don't easily join back together so you're left wondering which way up parts go and how they join together. And the clear perspex shield that surrounds the blade and keep food items in place is so badly engineered that it wouldn't stay on even at first use as the notches are insufficient and don't catch in. I know it's easy for a bad workman to blame their tools, but this is truly a totally redundant piece of kit. Really, one star is more than it's worth.
