This was my third Mandoline and I awaited it's arrival thinking that it would be an asset in my kitchen. How mistaken I was. The "blades" so called were about as sharp as a table knife and trying to cut a potato into Julienne strips was an arduous task, requiring great pressure to get it through the "blades". I then tried to cut an onion into thin slices, well what a mush I was left with. A useless piece of equipment, BUT decorative. I certainly would NOT recommend it.
I contacted the manufacturer to ask thier opion on this and all they could say was "contact seller", very unhelpful.

forget food processors with slicing attachments, just get this. absolutely excellent, and yes there is a chance you can cut yourself. but there is also a chance of cutting yourself with a knife if you arent careful!

Great kitchen items. All in one, no separate blades, you can change the cutting through one knob and one lever. The only separate piece is the fingers protector.
The thickness of the cut ranges from 3 to 9 mm. Cutting stick can be made in the position of 3 mm or 9 mm.
While setting the main blade at 0 mm and raising the wavy (secondary)blade you obtain a wavy cut.
The primary blade might be a little sharper for the 5 stars.
