Product Description

Product Description
When Los Angeles detective Russell Poole began investigating the killing of a black off-duty cop by a white undercover cop, little did he know that he was opening one of the wormiest cans in the history of American police enforcement. Before long Poole had established solid links that connected Suge Knight and his infamous label, Death Row Records, to the murders of both Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls and to an alarmingly large number of black cops in the LAPD. "Rolling Stone" reporter Randall Sullivan supports this unravelling of the truth through meticulous journalism, following up hundreds of leads that the LAPD chose to ignore, interviewing many key witnesses and having had the complete co-operation of Russell Poole. "LAbyrinth" offers an insider's look into the worlds of renegade cops, rival gangs and hip-hop celebrities.

About the Author
Randall Sullivan has written for Rolling Stone, Esquire, The Guardian and other publications. He is also the author of the highly acclaimed The Price of Experience: Power, Money, Image and Murder in Los Angeles.

This book is written in conjuction with the lead detective on the Biggie Murder who was also interested in the Pac murder who knows the exact facts about both. the book reads like a documentary and has a fascinating insight into how the detectives attempts to expose how and why police where working for Death Row where stifeld by the powers that be. an absoloutely great read for anyone who wants to know more on these rappers untimely deaths....

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW, 21 Dec 2002
This review is from: Labryinth (Paperback)
When reading this book you wonder whether Russell Poole (the investigating officer) has any evidence to back up his allegations. There seems to be alot of it.

This book not only discusses the murders of Tupac and Biggie, it really only makes you think.

What I wonder is that if the allegations in this book are true, then we (as black people) have a serious problem. Most of our role models are in the music industry and this book basically suggests that there's alot more blood on their hands than Tupac and Biggie's.

In the end money is not the root of all evil, greed is. Liars and cheaters always get caught in their web of lies.

READ THE BOOK.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth, 8 Jul 2003
By Mark Anderson (Birmingham, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Labryinth (Paperback)
If you are in any way a hip hop fan, and have not read ths book do so now. It delvs deep into the ongoing story of BIG and Pac. It is astonishing how certain people have not been arrested or a least questioned about the killings. An astonishing decription of just what power and money can gain and cost you. It is about time these murders were solved and I offer full support and hope that one day that the people behind these killings is brought to justice.
