What can I say, excellent drive first thing that strikes you is the good looks, very stylish perfectly complements my new imac.
Second thing is the quality, no flimsy plastic cover on this drive heavy, solid metal case, with sliver metal front.
Works out the box with my imac, and within 5mins was set up for time machine backup, can even be used as boot drive.
Only negative and not a major one is supplied cable is fairly short so if not placing right next to your PC/Mac wold need a longer one.

This is a great external hard disk, looks great and it is well built.
It is the second one I bought so that means I am happy with the product...but..
If I have to give something not that positive, is that it can be a little bit noisy sometimes, I don't know what makes the difference but just sometimes when writing to the disk it could be a bit noisy.
Other times sounds better. I have got two iomegas and two lacies and they are really good performers. Another thing is that it is quite heavy, but if the main purpose is to have it on your desk should be fine and it gives a feeling of indestructible object.
The software that comes with it I don't use it, I did format it for mac with mac utility.
The value is great considering I did a bit of research and that specification was excellent for the price.
I definitely recommend it.

This is defiantly designed to be put on the desk and not moved; it look fantastic, and weighs a ton (so no slinging it into the rugsack along with my notebook). In use, its not the fastest in the world, and copying large media files seems to take an extraordinarily long time, but it is very quite in use, only gets slightly warm when in use, and sleeps when told to do so by my mac.

Good solid product
Plugged it in, partitioned the disc, and away it went. Early days but it seems to do what it says on the tin - and very silently. Excellent

Didn't work
