I have owned this Lacie 320GB external hard drive for over a year now, and I have had absolutely no problems with it. Quiet, speedy and very reliable. Easy to use plug and play, power on / off switch etc. no faffing required. One of the smaller high storage devices out there. I hadn't heard of LaCie until looking into hard drives,but they were affordable and had good reviews so I gave it a go - and never looked back. The only reason I'm looking at hard drvies again is because I've run out of space on this one and will now be purchasing the LaCie 500GB model!

I have just bought this unit last week. I was looking for a Hard Drive too store my music and photos. This little machine has hit the nail on the head. Very easy to install and it will be up and running 5 minutes after you take it out of the box. Very quite and unobtrusive its a perfect match for any PC if you are looking for extra storage.

I purchased the 320 Gb to back up my 4 year old iMac, using the Intego Personal Backup programme (which is fantastic programme). Recently upgrading my Mac, with built in Time Machine, I felt the need to move to a Firewire drive and went to the 1Tb Extreme +. The Firewire transfer is marvellous.
Had the 320 been Firewire, not USB 2.0, it would have gotten a 5 Star. I tried out its built in back up programme without any problem - it was purely transfer speed.
No problem with overheating and no problem with noise.
