Great novel 5 Jun 2010

It's a fantastic novel, definitely a must to read. What I like the most is how Isabel Allende manage to communicate the history of Chile through this novel.

Beautiful but tragic 4 July 2003

This book is strange, ethereal, beautifully written and occasionally laugh-out-loud funny (in a macabre sort of way). It gallops from scene to scene, moving through other-worldly amusement, beautiful girls with green hair, table-tipping ghosts, romance and adventure to horror in the real world. A terrific read. It's ultimately optimistic but definitely not for the faint-hearted.

This book is one of the most colourful books I have ever read. It focuses on the story of one family - three generations. I would certainly recommend this book.
